The events category of our blog will cover limited-time events in the Shitamachi area of Tokyo. This time, we will pick the Christmas lights at Tokyo Skytree.
Tokyo Skytree, the broadcasting and observation tower, started offering Christmas lighting on November 10, 2022. Moreover, Tokyo Skytree Town, the shopping mall inside Tokoyo Skytree, also offers Christmas lights at various locations.
We went to Tokyo Skytree to enjoy the Christmas lights and illuminations the other day. This blog post will share what it was like.
We hope this blog post will help you somewhat when you visit Tokyo for sightseeing. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us through the contact form.

Our Thoughts
We had to admit that we went to Tokyo Skytree at the wrong time. There was a FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 match between Japan and Costa Rica on this day.
Tokyo Skytree was providing a public viewing of the match at Sky Arena on the 4th floor, where the Christmas tree was. It was too crowded to get close to the Christmas tree, as you can imagine.
On that day, we stopped by Sensoji Temple and Ushijima Shrine before Tokyo Skytree, but there weren’t many people there. We were the only visitors at Ushijima Shrine, especially. So the crowd at Tokyo Skytree amazed us.
This time it turned out to be disappointing, so we will go back to Tokyo Skytree sometime soon. At that time, we will let you know what it looks like in a new blog post.
